Xián Hi-Tech International School has begun a promising new school year with an enthusiastic and motivated team, new equipment and improvements to the educational programme. These new developments will bring the school to the standard that parents expect from an International School catering for children from 3 to 18. New management and many new teachers joining the remaining staff has seen a renewal in enthusiasm and energy being brought into the school. The school team all welcome visits from existing or prospective parents to see the changes and me the school staff who welcome feedback from parents and new ideas for the school. Current students and parents will notice straight away that the school building has received the attention of the new school team, raising the standard ready for the new school year and there are many more changes planned. Refurbishments to the school building has started and will continue over the coming months and include: Specialist English Support Improved science laboratory with improved and new equipment The introduction of three Chinese language rooms Study room and lounge for senior students Parent Association room A welcoming new front office sick bay Bigger library with more resources Students cafeteria (middle and primary school) Meeting room including the facility for parents to meet staff in private Teacher lounge


New furniture for the school as well as updated classroom, P.E and play equipment means the students will have a stimulating, safe and attractive environment to learn and play in. The changes that are can be seen when visiting Xián Hi-Tech International School are not all that the school is promising. As well as the updating of the building and amenities there are other new initiatives underway that include: New literacy and numeracy teaching programmes and equipment The introduction of The International Baccalaureate. Parent information evenings: What is assessment? What is IB? Where are we with the curriculum? Crèche for 1.5 to 3 year olds. Mother tongue classes – with support from parents P.E and Music lessons twice weekly Special events: School productions; Xi’an Idol (talent quest), sports day and other fun family events, family BBQ’s, Chinese New year Festival, International Day… Saturday morning sport After School Clubs Specialist Art Teacher The dedicated and experienced team would love to meet parents of current and prospective students to show parents the many improvements and talk about the new teaching programmes. Parents are welcome during school hours and the ‘Open Door’ policy at the school means there will be someone to welcome you and show you around. Appointments can be made by ringing the office for parents who would like to visit outside the school hours. The school is also planning an open day for all existing and prospective parents to come and see all the changes and talk to the teachers about the new programmes and plans for the school.
