Changan Banquet is the latest dinner + performance show now opened in Xi’An. In the span of 3 hours, guests are transported back to the era of ancient dynasties in which a sumptuous feast and a dazzling dance performance awaits. Wait staff are dressed in costumes of olden times, serving exquisite dishes in the Canto-Chaozhou cuisine style. Each person enjoys a 6-course dinner, starting off with Japanese abalone, and followed by king prawns and other delectables. After dinner, the sound of drums heralds the start of the dance performance portion of “Changan Banquet”.

In 80 minutes, the stories of 7 ancient Chinese beauties unfold before the viewer’s eyes. Stunning backdrop images presented in multimedia format with surround sound effects are the perfect complement to the modernistic dance choreography and original music specially created for the show. | Performance: Meng Jiangnu’s great sorrow in losing her husband to the construction work of the Great Wall is presented in realistic 3D effects. Hua Mulan’s fidelity to her father and brave deeds wins her accolades as a male soldier. Wang Zhaojun’s state marriage and self-exile gave China 60 years of peace with a warring neighbor. Hong Fu’s presence amongst the swordsmen inspired many to great deeds. Princess Wencheng’s state marriage to the Tibetan king brought about various technological and cultural advancements to the kingdom. Yang Yuhuan’s feminine charms are on display in a modern dance. Emperor Wu Zetian reigns as the only female emperor in the history of China. |
