Service for the Summer

Article by XIANEASE

Xi’an is home for all of us, whether temporarily or more permanently, and it’s up to all of us to be good members of our community. If you’re going to be around for the summer, or even if you’re not, there are people and organizations in our community that need help, and you’re in the perfect position to do just that. Here are a few causes worthy of your time, talents and treasures.

The 422.907 Dog Shelter is on the vanguard of animal care and rescue in Xi’an, and their successful efforts have created a great need. That need is for volunteers to help care for the dozens of animals rescued from such grisly fates as the butcher’s block. Volunteers can take on such responsibilities as feeding and cleaning, but simple play and interaction are needed as well. If your schedule doesn’t allow for the trip down to the shelter, 422.907 also is in need of donations to help fund their operations.
