What’s Hype?

Article by Ekam Gulati

Yo! It’s your boy Jiggy Singh here with another edition of “What’s Hype?” where I just lay down some fashion game and try to share some bomb music with y’all.

The temperatures have definitely dropped in the last couple of weeks and especially on the rainy days so you gotta dress accordingly. Fall is gonna be winter soon and it’s wise to invest in some pieces that are swaggy now and will be swaggy all throughout winter. Spend your money wisely, boi!
The first piece is a pair of tapered joggers/cuffed trousers (y’all might know them as sweatpants). This article of clothing is hella comfortable and 100-percent fresh. Our love for sportswear has spilled out onto the streets, so if you got a fresh pair it’s acceptable to wear them out. They can be dressed up or down depending on where you wanna stunt, you know I’m saying?
The second piece I wanna mention is a track jacket/windcheater. I know most of you are probably not wanting to mess with a track jacket, but a track top is the perfect outerwear article to own this season and it keeps you warm and real comfortable on a rainy day.
Match the above mentioned pieces with a sore pair of sneakers and you’re ready to flex hard this season. THANK ME LATER

I want to take this opportunity to introduce y’all to my cultural identity and I’ll keep it short for now. If you folks have seen me on the streets around town, y’all probably noticed that I’m rocking a crispy crown. A lot of you don’t really know what it is, but it’s all good. I’m a young from North India and we rock turbans (in Punjabi it’s called a “Dastaar”). It’s an article of faith that represents honour, self-respect, courage, spirituality, and piety. You’ll come across sikhs everywhere in the world. If y’all are interested in getting to know more about Sikhs I’d love to write more about it in the next edition. Sounds tight, right?

You know I ain’t gonna wrap this month’s edition without talking about some dope music. I’ve been bumping a lot of new stuff lately and would like to share it with you cats.
Young Thug – No, My Name is Jeffery
This project is definitely one of the hottest mixtapes of the year and it’s got this crazy artwork where you see him rocking this dress. It’s super innovative and pushing boundaries has always helped the hip-hop sound evolve. The mixtape bumps, and it’s got those dope southern sonics. The songs in this mixtape are all named for his idols, like Kanye West, Wyclef Jean, Floyd Mayweather, Swizz Beatz, Future, Rihanna and Gucci Mane, but the titles of the songs actually got nothing to do with the song really.

novThe mixtape’s definitely got a romantic vibe, delivered through his mutters, shouts and gasps in the classic southern style.
Y’all should definitely give this mixtape a listen and let me know what you feel about it.
